Tell us about a subject you enjoy studying

Today I am going to talk to you about a subject that I enjoy in college. I studied this subject in the first academic semester and is called path dependency. Path dependency is a phenomenon that considers history as an important factor, in this way, what has occurred in the past persists because of resistance to change. At first, when the subject was discussed, I related it to short phrases such as "the past matters" or "the past prevails", but when studying about the subject I realized that there was a background and a more interesting explanation behind the simple path of dependence. On the subject, I learned that this phenomenon explains the trend that shapes public policies. In this way, the surge of new institutionalism tends to define path dependence as a situation where the policy choice is constrained or shaped by institutional paths that result from choices made in the past.   Finally, it is worth mentioning that I enjoy studying this phenomenon, because I ...

As for the websites oriented my career, I like the page of transparency of the government because you can investigate about anything that you want know of some institution like a budgets and statistics for the purpose of conducting some research. How Can Your Major Make the World a Better Place

Imagen
From the beginning, when I decided to study public administration, my intention has always been to contribute to the country and the vulnerable sectors with what I learned. Now, with this career, I know that you can make the world a better place because the administration of each government tries to execute public policies in the best way, you can even propose ideas and statistical arguments depending on the area you work. Therefore, from a general vision, public policies and administration affect all areas that are related to society and its well-being, such as health, housing, education, immigration, civil matters, among others.  Personally, I like projects that require specific studies in some area, so I can see myself qualitatively investigating the realities that concern my research. Said in this way, the public administration is for those who have a vocation for public service and want to achieve the objectives of the state, this being a beneficial contribution worldwid...

A photo and its story

Imagen
On this occasion, let me show you a meaningful photograph for me. These photos were taken at the beginning of the year 2021. First of all, this trip was planned because my family wanted to move to the south of Chile, so we went beyond Puerto Montt to see the houses and their rentals.  Apart from this reason, we took the opportunity to visit new places we had never known, such as Valdivia, Puerto Montt, and specifically Hualaihue, where the photos were taken. Currently, with the pandemic, this trip meant a gratifying change of scenery, it was a relief to leave home and be with my family to see great landscapes. So, I find important this trip as a way to escape stress and mental exhaustion. Behind the scenes: these are 2 photos out of 100 that my brother took! because he took photos of me when I spoke, closed my eyes, or when I moved. Still, it was fun to see the photos. Is all for today, see you in the next post!

My favorite food

Imagen
My favorite food is shawarma, a dish of Middle Eastern cuisine. These are similar to tacos because are served on pita bread and can be filled with pieces of meat, chicken, turkey, faláfel, and vegetables. This dish, if meat is preferred, is prepared by cutting thin pieces of meat, which are previously roasted on a vertical spit. You can accompany this with vegetables and sauces. Finally, add this to pita bread and enjoy it! One of the reasons why I like it so much is because it is a foreign dish, I love that detail. Also, I like the flavor of the sauces that it includes, along with the combination of ingredients that you want and like them.  Although it is not completely healthy food, it is not junk food, it depends on the ingredients that you add and if you add sauces, so its impact on the health varies from each person. I always say that all excess is bad! See you in the next post!

My Favourite Piece Of Technology

Imagen
My favorite piece of technology is my cell phone because it is a comfortable, portable object. Also, this piece offers many services with or without the internet, so that is interesting and funny. In my daily life, I use my cell phone to check my social networks and to talk to people. I generally use Instagram to see "reels" (like funny videos) and posts. I also use Whatsapp to talk mainly with my family and classmates. Currently, its use affects me when I study because notifications distract me. But it also helps me to inform me about national and international events.  I absolutely recommend this device, especially in this context of a pandemic, because the cell phone keeps you connected with people and the world. You can also entertain downloading games or whatever your entertainment. See you in the next post!

Why did I choose my major?

Imagen
I chose my major because my vocation is public services. I knew that wanted to learn about the policy and government system, in fact, when I was a child I wanted to work in the government. However, before choose, my options were Political Sciences or Public Administration. The only thing I knew was my preference for "Universidad de Chile" and this helped me determine which career I preferred.                                                                              Finally, I decided to study Public Administration for its wide curriculum and because it has higher employability than the career of Political Science. Currently, I am in my second year of study, for the pandemic I have gone to online classes and it is not exciting as going to face-to-face classes (I think), even so, I like th...
